Hymn of Preparation  Come, People of the Risen King(Getty hymn)

GOD CALLS HIS PEOPLE TO WORSHIP
It is God Himself who calls His people to worship.
We come praising him, confessing our sins and the one true faith.

*Call to Worship  Psalm 34

Leader: I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
All: My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Leader: Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.
All: I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
Leader: Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
All: Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.

Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon

Leader: Let us come to the Lord in his majesty and mercy, confessing our sins, trusting in his grace for forgiveness and his new life in us.

All: O Lord, no day of my life has passed that has not proved me guilty in your sight. Prayers have been uttered from a prayerless heart; praise has often been praiseless sound. My best services are filthy rags. All things in me call for my rejection. However, all things in Christ plead my acceptance. Grant me to hear your voice assuring me; that by your stripes I am healed, that you were bruised for my iniquities, that you have been made sin for me that I might be righteous in you. Grant that by resting in your righteousness I may hereafter walk in newness of life and run hard after your commandments. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Silent Prayer

Leader: If you are trusting in Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins and acceptance with God, hear these words of his pardoning grace: But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. - Ephesians 2:4-7

GOD SPEAKS TO HIS PEOPLE THROUGH HIS WORD
The Scriptures and the Sacraments are the means God uses to communicate to us the benefits of redemption. He makes them effectual to his own for their salvation. We participate by faith.
