Morning Order of Worship

9:30 AM Worship at Christ Church:

Hymn of Preparation  How Deep the Father's Love for Us(Getty/Townend)

It is God Himself who calls His people to worship.
We come praising him, confessing our sins and the one true faith.

*Call to Worship  Psalm 96:1-5

Leader: Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth!

Congregation: Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.

Leader:  Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!

All: For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon

Leader: Hear the words of the gospel: As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, "Follow me." And he rose and followed him. And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" But when he heard it, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners." - Matthew 9:9-13

All: O King and Father, you sent your Son to rescue us who are sick in our sin. He lived in righteousness, died in our place, and was raised up in power. Now enable us to die to our sin in repentance so we may rise to new life in Him. We confess to you:
Lord, though you should guide us, we inform ourselves;
though you should rule us, we control ourselves;
though you should fulfill us, we console ourselves.
We think your truth too high, your will too hard,
your power too remote, your love too free. But they are not!
And without them, we are of all people sick and sorely oppressed.
Now heal our confused minds with your word,
heal our divided wills with your law,
heal our troubled consciences with your love,
heal our anxious hearts with your presence,
all for the sake of your Son,
who loved us and gave himself for us.

Continue to hear us now as we confess and repent silently.

Silent Prayer

Leader: If you are trusting in Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins, hear and believe his words of pardoning grace: For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. - Romans 8:29-30

Global Missions Moment

The Scriptures and the Sacraments are the means God uses to communicate to us the benefits of redemption. He makes them effectual to his own for their salvation. We participate by faith.
