Morning Order of Worship

9:30 AM Worship at Christ Church:

Welcome and Announcements

It is God Himself who calls His people to worship.
We come praising him, confessing our sins and the one true faith.

*Call to Worship  Isaiah 59:20, John 1:14, Psalm 46:10-11

Leader: And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression," declares the LORD.

Congregation: The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

All: He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

*Prayer of Invocation

*Hymn of Praise
      No. 194  O Come, O Come, Emanuel

*Reading of the Law   Matthew 22:36-40

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon

Leader: Hear us O God, most holy and most merciful, as we pray quietly then confessing and repenting together,

All: Out of the depths of my sinful self I cry to you, O LORD! O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy! If you, O LORD, should mark my sins, O Lord, I could not stand in your presence. But in the name of Jesus Christ and by his blood, there is forgiveness. O LORD, I wait for your mercies, my soul waits, and in Christ alone I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. O church, hope in the LORD with me! For with the LORD Jesus Christ there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. He has redeemed his people from all their sins. AMEN! - from Psalm 130:1-8

Leader: To all who are trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, hear these words of His pardoning grace: "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant...for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. - Luke 1:46-50
